Summary
- The Procurement Officer plays a crucial role in delivering effective procurement services that ensure value for money and social value outcomes. This position supports the organizationâ s transformation agenda by guiding departments through compliant procurement processes and enabling strategic sourcing decisions. The post-holder will work within a category-based procurement structure (e.g., People, Place, Resources), providing advice, managing procurement activities, and ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end procurement processes for contracts, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.
- Manage procurement exercises and tendering activities, including contracts up to defined financial thresholds.
- Support the award and management of contracts delivering best value and measurable outcomes.
- Ensure contracts include robust commercial terms and KPIs.
Essential Experience Required
- Experience in procurement, sourcing, or contract management within the public or private sector.
- Proven experience managing tendering and procurement processes end-to-end.
- Experience working with stakeholders across multiple departments.
- Knowledge of supplier relationship management and contract performance monitoring.
- Experience working within regulated procurement environments (preferred, especially public sector).
Essential Qualifications Required
- Degree or equivalent professional experience in procurement, business, finance, or related field.
- Working towards or holding a CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification (desirable/required depending on level).
Additional Information
- Working hours: 35 hours per week.
- We work on a bi-weekly schedule.
