PART TIME 4 Months Contract with a Local Authority

Summary

The Children & Family Hub Deputy Lead plays a crucial role in providing managerial support in the absence of the Children & Family Hub Manager and overseeing the extended services teams. This position is responsible for developing, coordinating, and commissioning high-quality integrated services for children aged 0–19 (or 25 with SEND) and their families. The Deputy Lead collaborates with local partners, stakeholders, and parents to plan, deliver, and evaluate services that align with Hackney’s strategic direction and the national Family Hub framework.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Children & Family Hub Manager in consulting and planning core services with stakeholders, service providers, and children's centres.
  • Ensure services reach the number of families identified in the Hub Delivery Plan.
  • Promote and model respectful, trauma-informed, systemic, anti-racist, and strengths-based approaches across all service areas.
  • Plan, support, and monitor quality integrated services tailored to Hackney’s diverse communities, including hard-to-reach groups.

Essential Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in children’s services such as social care, early years, primary education, public health, or community development.
  • Experience providing line management, including appraisals and supervision.
  • Experience in project management and service development.

Essential Qualifications Required

  • Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in health, social care, education, early years, community work, or a related field.

  • Please note, we work on bi-weekly payments.
  • The role is PART TIME.
  • Candidates MUST have an enhanced DBS.
