- The Community Employment Mentor plays a crucial role in assisting individuals who are unemployed or experiencing in-work poverty to overcome obstacles to sustainable employment.
This position is part of the Communities for Work Plus Programme and involves providing personalized mentoring, guidance, and support to help participants access training, education, and employment opportunities.
The role requires a comprehensive and person-focused approach, collaborating with partner agencies to enhance outcomes for participants within the community.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support a caseload of participants through regular one-on-one mentoring sessions.
- Conduct assessments to identify employment barriers and create individualized action plans.
- Assist clients in accessing employment, education, training, and skills development opportunities.
- Offer ongoing guidance, motivation, and practical support to help participants achieve their objectives.
- Monitor participant progress and conduct regular reviews of agreed action plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, case notes, and monitoring information.
- Ensure all program documentation and performance information are completed accurately and on time.
- Collaborate with statutory, voluntary, and community organizations to secure appropriate support for participants.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience supporting individuals facing employment barriers, poverty, or social exclusion.
- Experience in mentoring, coaching, advising, guiding, or providing employment support services.
- Proficiency in conducting assessments and developing personalized action plans.
- Experience working with vulnerable or hard-to-reach individuals with complex needs.
- Experience collaborating with statutory, voluntary, and community sector organizations.
- Competence in maintaining accurate records and performance monitoring information.
