- Summary
- This is a 3-month contract role with a local authority, aimed at providing practical, emotional, and social support to children, young people, and their families or carers.
The position is crucial in ensuring that the assessed care and support needs of these individuals are met.
The role involves direct engagement with children and young people, supporting the implementation of care and support plans, conducting assessments when necessary, and collaborating with professionals, families, and partner agencies to promote positive outcomes and safeguard welfare.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to children, young people, and families in accordance with agreed care and support plans.
- Assist children and young people who are Looked After or subject to statutory interventions, care plans, or court orders.
- Build and maintain positive and professional relationships with children, young people, families, carers, and partner agencies.
- Conduct assessments of children and young people as required, under the guidance of a Team Manager or Senior Practitioner.
- Support the planning, implementation, and review of care and support interventions.
- Work sensitively with children, young people, and families experiencing trauma, stress, or challenging circumstances.
Essential Experience Required
- Experience working with children, young people, and families.
- Experience supporting individuals in complex or challenging situations.
- Experience developing positive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Experience working within a safeguarding or care environment.
- Experience maintaining accurate records and case information.
Essential Qualifications Required
- Level 2 Care Qualification or equivalent qualification within the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales (CQFW).
- Additional Information
- Working hours: 37 hours per week.
- Work pattern: 3-4 days in the office, 1-2 days remote, depending on service demands.
