Job Description

  • 3 Month Contract With A Local Authority
  • Job Purpose

Ensure responsive repairs, new build handovers, and housing asset improvement works are delivered to a high standard, meeting quality, safety, and customer satisfaction expectations.

Monitor contractor performance, support service delivery, and contribute to the effective management of housing assets and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct post-inspections of responsive repair works to ensure compliance with specifications, health and safety requirements, and contract standards.
  • Inspect and sign off new build property handovers, ensuring homes are completed free from defects.
  • Monitor the quality and fire safety standards of fibre optic broadband and mobile phone mast installations within housing stock.
  • Supervise contractors and consultants on site to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
  • Work closely with residents, resident groups, elected members, contractors, and internal stakeholders to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Liaise with Repairs and Investment teams and other Council departments to support the procurement and delivery of maintenance and investment programmes.
  • Support the achievement of service objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deputise for the Quality and Performance Manager when required.

Requirements

  • Experience in building maintenance surveying, property inspection, or housing asset management.
  • Strong knowledge of building construction, responsive repairs, planned maintenance, and health and safety regulations.
  • Experience supervising contractors and monitoring quality standards.
  • Ability to identify defects, assess workmanship, and ensure compliance with specifications and contractual requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Relevant qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, or a related discipline is desirable.
