The Executive Head of Childcare Services is responsible for the strategic leadership, management, and delivery of high-quality childcare provision across multiple local authority-maintained nurseries. This role ensures the provision of safe, inclusive, and high-quality early education, maintaining compliance with Ofsted standards and statutory requirements. The post holder will lead service development, workforce management, safeguarding practices, and financial oversight to deliver excellent outcomes for children and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day management of childcare services across multiple nursery settings.
  • Drive continuous improvement in early years education and childcare standards.
  • Lead service planning, self-evaluation, and development planning across centres.
  • Ensure high-quality provision aligned with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements.
  • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead for childcare provision.
  • Ensure robust safeguarding policies and procedures are in place and adhered to.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to support children and families.
  • Promote early intervention strategies and integrated service delivery.

Essential Experience Required:

  • Significant experience managing childcare or early years services.
  • Experience within public sector childcare/education services.
  • Proven experience of leading teams and managing staff performance.
  • Experience managing budgets and financial planning.

Essential Qualifications Required:

  • Recognised Early Years / Childcare qualification (essential).
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.

  • Working hours: 36 hours per week.
  • DBS Required.
  • Location: 91-93 St Ann's Road, London, Greater London, N15 6NU, United Kingdom.
  • We work on a bi-weekly schedule.
