The CCTV Operations Officer will play a crucial role in delivering an effective and compliant CCTV service for the Council on a 3-month contract. This position involves system monitoring, operational checks, first-line technical support, evidence gathering, and maintenance coordination. The role is vital in ensuring the security and safety of the community through efficient CCTV operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a reliable and efficient CCTV service, including system operation, maintenance coordination, and technical support.
  • Conduct routine system checks and troubleshoot technical issues, escalating where necessary.
  • Coordinate repairs, upgrades, and servicing of CCTV equipment, making recommendations for replacement where appropriate.
  • Provide professional advice and support to colleagues and stakeholders on CCTV-related matters.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with CCTV systems or in a technical operations environment.
  • Experience in evidence handling, investigations, or working within a regulatory framework is desirable.
  • Experience working in partnership with law enforcement or public sector organizations is advantageous.
  • Relevant qualification in CCTV operations, security systems, or a technical discipline (desirable).
  • Knowledge of CCTV legislation (PACE, RIPA, GDPR/Data Protection) is highly desirable.
  • SIA Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) Licence (or willingness to obtain).

Additional Information:

  • Working hours: 36 hours per week Monday-Friday, 08:00-20:00 (hours to be confirmed).
  • Bi-weekly schedule.
