Summary
- The Senior Governance Officer will play a crucial role within the Universityâ s Governance Office, supporting the effective operation of governance frameworks and decision-making processes. Working closely with the University Secretary, Executive Board, and University Council, the postholder will ensure that governance activities are well-coordinated, compliant, and delivered to a high professional standard.
Responsibilities
- Support the smooth operation of Boards and Committees, ensuring adherence to terms of reference and governance requirements.
- Manage key governance structures, including the University Council, its committees, and the Executive Board.
- Coordinate agendas, papers, and documentation to facilitate effective decision-making.
- Organise and service meetings, including preparing documentation and taking accurate minutes.
- Maintain action logs and ensure timely follow-up on decisions and agreed actions.
- Communicate outcomes and decisions clearly to relevant stakeholders, including paper authors.
Requirements
Essential Experience Required
- Minimum 2 yearsâ experience in a governance, administration, or similar role within a complex organisation.
- Experience supporting senior stakeholders and managing high-level meetings or committees.
- Experience in preparing governance documentation, agendas, and minutes.
Essential Qualifications Required
- Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience.
- Evidence of continuous professional development (desirable).
Additional Information
- Working hours: 35 hours per week.
- This role is for a fixed term period until 31 July 2026.
- The anticipated start date is as soon as possible.
- The role is full-time, although part-time will be considered.
- The role is fully office-based.
- We work on a bi-weekly schedule.
