Job Description
Traffic Engineering Lead – 6 Month Contract
Location: Dudley
Contract: 6 Month Contract
Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Traffic Engineering Lead to spearhead the execution of traffic management, road safety, and Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) initiatives within a Local Authority highways team. This role involves managing a small team, ensuring successful project delivery, offering technical guidance to senior stakeholders, and contributing to the formulation of traffic management strategies and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct traffic management and road safety initiatives.
- Oversee the administration of Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs).
- Evaluate collision and traffic data to formulate work programs.
- Provide expert technical advice to senior officers and elected officials.
- Oversee project budgets, assess risks, and monitor contractor performance.
- Prepare and deliver technical reports.
- Act as a deputy for the Traffic Group Manager when necessary.
- Represent the Local Authority in regional and technical meetings.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in Traffic Engineering or Highway Engineering.
- Traffic Management
- Road Safety
- Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs)
- Proven experience in managing staff, budgets, and projects.
- Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement and report writing.
- Possession of a full UK Driving Licence.
