This position involves leading and managing the Housing Management and Income Recovery Service for a local authority on a 6-month contract. The role is pivotal in overseeing temporary accommodation management, maximizing rental income, and delivering exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with statutory obligations, council policies, and corporate goals. Additionally, the role supports strategic and operational priorities, fosters continuous service improvement, and ensures value for money, ultimately achieving positive outcomes for households in temporary accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the Housing Management and Income Recovery Service to meet both operational and strategic goals.
- Manage the Council's temporary accommodation portfolio, ensuring alignment with legislation, policy, and best practices.
- Lead initiatives for rental income collection, arrears prevention, and income maximization.
- Monitor service performance and implement plans to enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage contracts and relationships with accommodation providers and contractors to ensure compliance and value for money.
- Cultivate effective partnerships with internal departments, landlords, support agencies, and external partners.
Essential Qualifications
- A degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field.
- A management qualification or significant management experience in housing, homelessness, or a related service area.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in housing management, homelessness, income recovery, or leadership.
