The Children's Cook is tasked with preparing and delivering nutritious, balanced meals for children and staff within a care setting. This role is crucial in ensuring that meals are cooked to a high standard, meet dietary requirements, and are served on time. The position involves preparing a daily light lunch and a two-course evening meal.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a single-course light lunch to be served at 1:00 PM.
- Prepare and cook a two-course evening meal to be served at 5:00 PM.
- Cater for up to 20 children and adults, ensuring appropriate portion sizes.
- Follow set menus and pre-planned food orders.
- Ensure all meals are nutritious, balanced, and suitable for children.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a cook, preferably within a school, care, or childcare setting.
- Experience preparing meals for groups.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling practices.
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above) β essential.
