  • The Employment Specialist (IAG Officer) plays a crucial role in delivering a comprehensive employability and progression service to young people and residents who encounter obstacles in accessing employment, education, and training opportunities.

This position involves independently managing a caseload of participants, offering personalized Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG), and providing employability support and progression planning.

The ultimate goal is to assist individuals in securing sustainable employment, education, or training outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage a caseload of participants in need of employment, education, and training assistance.
  • Conduct outreach and engagement activities to identify and connect with eligible participants.
  • Perform assessments to determine participants' employment, skills, training, and support requirements.
  • Create individualized action plans and progression pathways aligned with participants' goals and situations.
  • Deliver one-on-one IAG to facilitate participants' entry into employment, education, and training.
  • Provide practical support, including CV writing, job search strategies, application guidance, interview preparation, confidence building, and career planning.
  • Assist participants in addressing disclosure issues and overcoming barriers to employment progression.
  • Track participant progress and regularly update action plans to ensure ongoing development and achievement of objectives.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in supporting individuals towards employment, education, training, apprenticeships, or work placements.
  • Proven track record in delivering IAG, career support, employability, or skills-based interventions.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage a caseload and maintain precise case records.
