Job Purpose

To provide efficient and effective administrative and business support services across childcare, fostering, and adoption teams. The role ensures smooth day-to-day operations by delivering high-quality administrative support, including minute-taking, record management, and general office duties.

Key Duties / Accountabilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to multiple teams (childcare, fostering, and adoption services).
  • Undertake general office duties including filing, data entry, and document management.
  • Attend meetings and take accurate, timely minutes, ensuring records are maintained and distributed as required.
  • Maintain and update internal systems, databases, and records in line with organisational procedures.
  • Handle incoming communications (emails, calls, post) and respond or redirect appropriately.
  • Support scheduling and coordination of meetings, appointments, and team activities.
  • Ensure confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive information in accordance with data protection requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, correspondence, and other documentation.
  • Provide general business support to ensure the smooth running of the teams.

Essential Experience Required

  • Previous experience in an administrative or business support role.
  • Experience of minute taking and producing accurate meeting notes.
  • Experience working in a busy office environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience of working with databases and office systems (e.g. Microsoft Office).

Essential Qualifications Required

  • Good standard of general education (e.g., GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths).
  • Relevant administrative qualification (desirable but not essential).
