3 Month Contract With A Local Authority
Job Purpose:
To deliver high-quality street cleansing and environmental maintenance services, ensuring public spaces are clean, safe, and well-maintained. The role supports a wide range of operational services, contributing to environmental standards and community wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out street cleansing duties including litter picking and maintaining public spaces
- Undertake street weed and vegetation control activities
- Remove fly tipping and assist with site clearance and tidy-up works
- Perform graffiti removal and support environmental improvement tasks
- Conduct play area inspections and report maintenance issues
- Assist with bulky item collection services
- Operate mechanical sweeping equipment where required
- Support grounds maintenance services, including grass cutting, hedge maintenance, and seasonal works
- Assist with domestic and commercial waste collections, including bin delivery and removal of waste
- Ensure all tasks are completed in line with health and safety regulations and service standards
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence (essential) with no more than 3 penalty points
- Experience in street cleansing, waste management, or grounds maintenance is desirable
- Ability to undertake physically demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Good understanding of health and safety practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, flexible, and responsive to ad hoc shift patterns
Additional Information:
- Contract Type: Ad hoc (shifts issued weekly via text message on Fridays)
- Hours: Up to 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 4 days per week with 1 rest day)
- Location: Clean & Green Environmental Depot, Brownhills, WS7 8EN
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: 3 months with potential to extend
