3 Month Contract With A Local Authority
Job Purpose
To support the delivery of the Music in the Bandstand event programme by ensuring the safe, smooth, and efficient operation of events at Sanders Park. The Event Steward will act as the on-site co-ordinator, assisting with event setup, site management, health and safety compliance, and providing support to performers and members of the public.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the on-site Event Site Co-ordinator during events.
- Set up and pack away the bandstand area, seating, and event equipment.
- Collect and return keys using the access code system and secure the Pavilion after each event.
- Manage site access arrangements, including parking bollards and overflow car park support.
- Provide access to electrical power for performers and event requirements.
- Ensure the park and event area remain clean and tidy, including litter picking during performances.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures throughout events.
- Carry out banksman duties when required, directing vehicles safely during loading and unloading activities.
- Welcome bands and performers on arrival and act as the main point of contact on site.
- Provide assistance and information to members of the public where required.
Requirements
- Organised, reliable, and able to work independently.
- Confident communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with performers, visitors, and event staff.
- Awareness and understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
- Comfortable carrying out light manual handling and event setup tasks.
- Ability to manage site responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work outdoors during live events.
- Basic DBS check required.
