This is a 3-month contract position with a local authority aimed at delivering high-quality Children’s Social Care services. The role focuses on safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children and young people, contributing to improved outcomes. The position involves managing a complex caseload, delivering effective social work interventions, and ensuring compliance with legislation, policy, and best practice standards, while upholding the reputation of the Council and Department.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a complex and varied caseload with appropriate supervision and support.
- Undertake statutory social work duties in line with relevant legislation and policies.
- Carry out assessments, develop care plans, and ensure regular reviews are completed.
- Deliver protective and supportive services to children in need, at risk, or looked after.
Essential Experience:
- Experience managing complex caseloads within Children’s Social Care.
- Experience working within statutory frameworks and safeguarding processes.
- Experience preparing reports and attending court proceedings.
Essential Qualifications:
- Qualified Social Worker (Degree/Diploma in Social Work or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
Additional Information:
- Working hours: 36 hours per week, 9-5:30 Mon-Fri.
- Location: Trinity Road, Bootle, Merseyside, L20 3NJ, United Kingdom.
- DBS Required.
- Interviews will be held at Magdalen House, Bootle or via Microsoft Teams upon request.
- We operate on a bi-weekly schedule.
