- This is a 3-month contract role with a local authority, aimed at contributing to the delivery of an effective Children's Social Care Service.
The purpose of the role is to support vulnerable children, young people, and families in achieving positive outcomes.
The post holder will provide practical, emotional, and social support, contribute to assessments and care planning, identify and respond to risks, and work collaboratively with families and partner agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with children and young people aged 0â
25 and their families to support positive outcomes.
- Contribute to assessments, care planning, reviews, and interventions using a child-centred approach.
- Deliver practical and emotional support to children, young people, and families within their homes and communities.
- Support children and families in accordance with Child in Need, Child Protection, Looked After Children, and other statutory care plans.
- Promote children's wellbeing, resilience, self-esteem, and emotional development.
Requirements
Essential Experience Required
- Experience working with children, young people, and families in a social care, education, health, youth work, or community setting.
- Experience supporting vulnerable children and families facing complex challenges.
- Experience identifying safeguarding concerns and following child protection procedures.
Essential Qualifications Required
- Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Social Care, Childcare, Youth Work, Health & Social Care, Education, or a related field.
- Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to children's services.
- Additional Information
- Working hours: 36 hours per week.
- Enhanced DBS - Children's & Adults' Barred Lists.
- We work on a bi-weekly schedule.
