This is a 3-month contract role with a local authority, aimed at providing high-quality advice, guidance, advocacy, and practical support to young people aged 17½ to 25 who are leaving care. As a Personal Advisor, you will manage a caseload of care leavers, including complex and high-risk cases, ensuring they receive the necessary support to achieve positive outcomes in education, employment, training, accommodation, health, finances, and independent living.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage an allocated caseload of care leavers aged 17½ to 25, including vulnerable, complex, and high-risk cases.
  • Build positive and effective relationships with young people to engage them in planning for their future and achieving their goals.
  • Undertake assessments of need, risk, strengths, and aspirations to inform support planning and interventions.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and review Pathway Plans in partnership with young people and relevant agencies.
  • Provide information, advice, guidance, and practical support on education, employment, training, accommodation, health, relationships, and independent living skills.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Experience working directly with young people, vulnerable adolescents, or care-experienced young adults. Experience managing a caseload and delivering individual support plans.
  • Qualifications: Level 3 qualification or above in Social Care, Youth Work, Education, Housing, Community Work, Health and Social Care, or a related discipline. GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics. Enhanced DBS clearance.

Additional Information:

  • Working hours: 36 hours per week.
  • Driving license required.
  • Location: 34-36 Woodhouse Road, North Finchley, London, N12 0RG, United Kingdom.
  • Work pattern: 2-3 days office‑based. Bi-weekly schedule.
