The Cook/Housekeeper will be integral in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment within our six-bedded children’s residential home. This role involves preparing nutritious meals for up to 10 residents and staff, ensuring the kitchen and associated areas are managed to a high standard. The postholder will contribute to the wellbeing of young people, some of whom may display challenging behaviours, by providing consistent routines, high-quality food provision, and a homely environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare daily lunch and evening meals for up to 10 residents and staff.
- Plan and produce weekly menus that meet dietary needs, preferences, and nutritional requirements.
- Order weekly food supplies, either through online shopping or in-person supermarket visits.
- Ensure stock rotation and proper storage of all food items.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized kitchen environment.
- Carry out routine cleaning tasks, including surfaces, appliances, and food preparation areas.
- Monitor and record fridge and freezer temperatures accurately in line with health and safety requirements.
