  • As a Structural Technician, you will be contributing to either or both:
  • the delivery of a variety of building projects across the UK, across a range of sectors including residential, education and commercial development and regeneration.
  • contributing to projects which include large scale urban extensions, urban regeneration schemes, high street and public realm renewal, and civil engineering associated with building structures.

Your role will be primarily focused on the production of drawings and models and the development and maintenance of coordinated drawing standards in conjunction with the wider Civic Engineers’ technician team.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside industry experts and high profile private and public sector clients and collaborators.

  • Day-to-day task and expectations
  • Technical
  • Civil and/or Structural engineering BIM modelling using BIM compatible programmes suitable to discipline.

These include but not limited to the full Autodesk Suite of programmes & Causeway Flow.

  • Preparing and self-checking drawings/ models
  • Coordinating drawings/models with the internal/ external design teams
  • Undertaking internal and external training
  • Assisting Engineering Technicians
  • Transmitting documents to external parties and management of associated documentation
  • Compliance with the duties of Designer under the CDM Regulations 2015
  • Compliance with the practice IMS
  • Managerial
  • Liaising and reviewing production of information with Engineers on a project-by-project basis
  • Guiding Apprentice/Junior Technicians
  • Behaviour and Professional Commitment
  • Participation in Civic Academy and other CPD opportunities
  • Maintaining a record of your CPD and a Development Action Plan
  • Demonstrating behaviour consistent with Civic’s Values and contributing to the progress of the organisation
  • Actively working towards professional accreditation

Experience/Qualifications Required

  • Experience of working in an engineering design studio
  • Civil/Structural Engineering HNC qualified
