We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Registered Manager to lead a residential care home supporting individuals with mental health conditions and learning disabilities. This is a key leadership role for a manager who is confident in running a service, maintaining compliance, and driving occupancy through strong external relationships.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring high standards of care, safety and regulatory compliance are consistently delivered. You will be leading from the front, managing and developing a stable team, and embedding a strong culture of accountability and person-centred care.
You will have a strong working knowledge of CQC regulations and be confident in implementing and maintaining robust audit systems in line with Regulation 17. Experience of preparing for and managing CQC inspections is essential, along with the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement effective action plans.
A key part of this role will involve working closely with local authorities, hospital discharge teams and commissioners to build relationships, increase referrals and maintain strong occupancy levels within the home. You must be commercially aware and confident in marketing the service to ensure voids are minimised.
You will be responsible for managing staffing levels, recruitment, supervisions, appraisals and performance management, ensuring the team is well supported and delivering high-quality care. You will also oversee care planning, safeguarding, risk management and ensure all staff are working in line with policies and procedures.
Requirements- Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a Registered Manager within a residential care home
- Proven experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and mental health conditions
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, inspections and compliance frameworks
- Experience implementing audits and governance systems
- Track record of managing occupancy and working with external stakeholders
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage a busy service and lead under pressure
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or working towards)
- Relevant care qualification
- Ongoing training in safeguarding, MCA/DoLS and medication management
