We are looking for a new Reporter to join Citywire’s highly motivated and fast-paced editorial team. London-based, this reporter will work to break exclusive news, interview major industry figures, and deliver insightful analysis for our audience of financial advisers.

We’re looking for an ambitious individual who can build strong relationships with contacts and meet tight deadlines with creative and original stories (not regurgitate press releases).

What you’ll be doing:

  • Grow a contact book of key people in the advice world by networking and interviewing key industry figures.

  • Cover a wide array of topics ranging from what is going on at financial planning businesses, how firms are dealing with evolving regulation, and how wider investment trends are impacting client portfolios.

  • Break original and exclusive news that matters for advisers and help with our subscription model.

What we’re looking for:

  • Ambition & Curiosity: A natural curiosity and desire to learn about the financial sector and to develop new reporting skills. A prior knowledge or interest in finance is preferred, but not essential.

  • Reporting Experience: Proven ability to write news stories and features, which can include experience gained through internships, student journalism, or work placements.

  • Strong Communication skills: You have the ability to build rapport with contacts, ask the right questions, and explain complex topics clearly and effectively.

  • Fast-Paced Environment: You are comfortable working to tight deadlines and can thrive in a fast-paced news environment.

  • Self-Starter: You can work independently, chase news leads, and break important stories that matter to our audience of financial advisers.
