We're looking for a sharp and organised Deputy Editor to join our New Model Adviser team. As a key partner to our Editor, you will play a vital role in shaping our coverage of the UK financial advice market - from pensions and investments, to how businesses hire staff and the rules they must follow.

We are focused on high-quality, exclusive coverage that goes beyond press releases, and you'll be at the heart of our newsroom, helping a talented team of reporters turn raw ideas into must-read stories. This is a role that requires a keen news eye and the ability to build influential relationships. It’s an exciting opportunity to drive the editorial direction of a market-leading title while developing your own high-impact features and data-led investigations.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working alongside the Editor to generate exclusive, high-impact coverage of the financial advice space and ensuring all copy is edited to the highest standard.
  • Building strong relationships with our reporters to help them shape their ideas, refine their angles and push their articles further.
  • Developing your own original stories and features by building relationships with senior industry figures and extracting insights from our data.
  • Organising key elements of our news and features coverage, including setting clear deadlines, word counts, and editorial direction for contributors.
  • Acting as a key face of NMA by maintaining and building relationships with senior leaders across the financial advice space.

What we’re looking for:

  • Editorial Experience: Demonstrable experience in a similar role at a trade or national (full-time or freelance) at a senior level.
  • Sharp Editing Skills: A meticulous eye for detail and the ability to elevate copy, ensuring it resonates with a professional audience.
  • Highly Organised: A natural coordinator who can manage deadlines and editorial schedules.
  • Relationship Builder: Confident and professional, you are comfortable engaging with senior industry figures and collaborating across internal teams.
  • Data Literate: Comfortable working with numbers and data to uncover trends and drive original reporting.

At Citywire, we uphold a culture rooted in honesty, integrity, and fairness, where every voice is valued and heard. Our culture promotes constructive dialogue and collaboration on a global scale. Join the team at the forefront of the global asset management industry.

Our perks:

  • Generous holiday entitlement: Start with 25 days per annum, increasing to 28 days after three years' service, and 30 days after five years' service, in addition to bank holidays.
  • Flexible working options.
  • Annual allowance for well-being activities or gym memberships, with assistance available for monthly or annual costs.
  • Eye-test and glasses allowance.
  • Competitive private pension scheme.
  • Critical illness cover and group life assurance from day one of employment.
  • Well-being support: Access to an independent Employee Assistance Programme, available 24/7.
  • Cycle to work scheme and annual travel card loans.
  • Techscheme: Purchase the latest tech through our employer scheme, spreading the cost over 12 months with National Insurance savings.
  • After two years of continuous service, access group income protection, private medical, and dental insurance.
