We’re looking for an experienced Managing Sub-Editor to join our digital editorial team, ensuring every story, feature, and commercial piece meets exacting standards.
You’ll be responsible for coordinating multiple deadlines, editing and publishing online content, and maintaining the Citywire style across all channels.
This is a role for someone who thrives under pressure, is meticulous about detail, and has a genuine passion for words and storytelling.
This role offers the chance to shape the editorial voice of Citywire, work across global content projects, and develop your leadership and digital publishing skills.
What you’ll be doing: Lead our sub-editing operation, co-ordinating freelance sub-editors as well as managing workflows and deadlines.
Edit, sub, and publish digital content, including headlines, stand firsts, captions, and article copy.
Research and source images, and develop visual concepts for stories.
Liaise with reporters, editors, picture desk, research, audience development, and design teams.
Maintain and enforce the Citywire style guide across all content.
Run planning meetings with production, design, and editorial managers.
Chase copy and ensure timely delivery from internal and external contributors.
