We are seeking to appoint a Level 2 Teaching Assistant on a permanent contract to join our team based at our Swinton site. Springwood is a large primary age Special School (375 pupils aged 5–11) based over a number of sites, which caters for pupils with moderate, severe and complex needs. Springwood is part of the LINK Education Trust. At Springwood Primary School we are constantly striving to create the best learning opportunities for every pupil. Responsibilities
  • Support primary age children with complex needs to achieve their potential.
  • Ensure that all pupils are included and supported to develop, whatever their special educational needs or behaviour challenges.
  • Work as part of a team to provide an appropriate learning environment for pupils.
  • Participate in your own professional development and learn new skills.
  • Lead groups of pupils and develop expertise in a nominated area of specialist communication as required.
Qualifications and essential criteria
  • Previous experience of working with young people of school age who may present with challenging behaviour and complex needs, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Ready to develop skills and expertise to lead groups of pupils and contribute to specialist communication areas.
  • Willingness to engage in professional development and respond to the needs of the school and its pupils.
