As a Homelessness Officer in the Housing Solutions and Homelessness service, you will contribute to preventing and relieving homelessness by supporting people into safe, sustainable housing. The role is resident‑facing and involves completing assessments, creating Personal Housing Plans, coordinating with partners, monitoring progress and supporting residents toward durable housing outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct homelessness assessments and manage the assessment process.
- Develop and review Personal Housing Plans with applicants.
- Coordinate with residents, partner agencies and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and progress.
- Monitor case progress and support residents toward sustainable housing outcomes.
- Negotiate with landlords and other parties to secure affordable agreements and protect residents’ tenancy rights.
- Collaborate across the department and wider Council to maximize residents’ income and resources.
- Maintain accurate case records and reports in line with statutory requirements.
