As Director of Cross River Partnership (CRP), you can make your own powerful contribution to the success of central London. You'll lead a unique public‑private partnership hosted by Westminster City Council, working with central London local authorities, Business Improvement Districts and strategic partners to deliver programmes that make a real difference. You’ll set the vision for CRP’s future, shaping the annual Business Plan and Annual Report with partners and funders, and ensuring the partnership continues to respond to London’s needs now and next. This role offers independence, scope and influence to bring ideas to life and help CRP keep improving.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the CRP Board, working closely with public and private sector Co‑Chairs to set agendas, brief members and ensure meetings produce clear decisions.
  • Support the Board’s working groups and oversee relationships with CRP’s charitable arm, Fairer, Safer, Greener.
  • Identify and secure the finances needed to deliver CRP programmes, manage budgets tightly and ensure value for money for partners and the council.
  • Lead and develop CRP staff, associate consultants and sub‑contractors, fostering a culture of support, accountability and clear impact, while promoting inclusive leadership.
  • Build and maintain relationships across the council, CRP partners, government, BIDs, landowners, businesses and wider London networks to influence decisions and champion collaborative delivery.
  • Lead business development, fundraising and communications to secure new opportunities, raise CRP’s profile and deliver value‑adding programmes.
  • Ensure CRP operates transparently and in compliance with council, procurement, contract, audit and external funder requirements.
  • Embed equity, diversity and inclusion into CRP’s work and culture.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong experience of leading partnership working with senior stakeholders across the public, private and voluntary sectors, including local government, central government, Business Improvement Districts, TfL, Network Rail, the GLA and other partners.
  • Track record of delivering major cross‑cutting programmes across environment, economy, society and transport, with complex projects involving multiple partners and moving parts.
  • Experience across programme, project, financial, staff and development management.
  • Understanding of the commercial realities of running a partnership‑based organisation with no guaranteed income streams and ability to build sustainable opportunities.
  • Innovative, creative, collaborative and resilient, with strong communication, problem‑solving skills and the ability to use evidence, analysis and sound judgment in decision‑making.
