As a Ceramics Technician in the Adult Education Service, you will provide flexible technical support across the Creative Industries curriculum. Your day-to-day tasks will include ordering tools and equipment, monitoring and maintaining stock, and setting up equipment necessary for teaching sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a health and safety first approach: ensure tools and specialist machinery are kept in safe working order, carrying out routine checks and basic maintenance where appropriate.
  • Support learners in showcasing their work: set up and dismantle displays for exhibits, adding a creative touch where possible.
  • Manage stock and administrative procedures: perform stock rotation and handle administrative tasks related to stock control.
  • Promote artwork and support learners, colleagues, or customers in a busy education environment.

Qualifications

  • Established professional with a Ceramics qualification at Level 3 or above.
  • Sound knowledge of current ceramics practice, materials, processes, and studio procedures.
  • Experience supporting learners, colleagues or customers in a dynamic education setting.
  • Effective communication skills with a wide range of people.
  • Experience in stock control, administrative procedures, setting up displays, and promoting artwork.

Working Hours

This is a part‑time role covering Mondays and Tuesdays from 7th September onwards. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required, so flexibility is essential.
