Salary: £25,771

Shifts: Monday to Friday (shifts vary between 7 am and 7 pm)

Hours: 40 hours per week

This is where you come in!

We are looking to recruit a Warehouse Assistant to join the team at our Reading Service Centre. Your role will be to work closely with the rest of the team to ensure the efficient operation of the warehouse on a daily basis, and to support coordination of couriers and fleet administration. You will also play a key role in the implementation and running of several key clients’ contracts.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure all deliveries are scanned, sorted and then loaded onto the correct vehicles and report any amendments.
  • Log all consignment movements accurately.
  • Report any damages or missing items.
  • Report defective equipment to ensure repairs are carried out quickly and efficiently.
  • Assist in the effective implementation of new procedures or systems.
  • Help load courier vehicles and maintain order during the loading period.
  • Maintain high‑standard housekeeping of the warehouse.
  • Support the storage, order processing, picking and packing of the Service Centre consumable operation when required.
  • Support off‑site clients when required.

Key skills needed

  • Highly organised and able to prioritise.
  • Flexibility and willingness to get involved all aspects of the business.
  • Computer literacy and ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Ability to act on your own initiative without constant supervision.
  • Previous experience desirable, but full training will be given.
