The role:
As an Automation Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring the quality, stability and reliability of CitySprint's technology platforms. Reporting to the Automation & Technical Lead, you'll help develop and maintain automated testing frameworks across our web applications, mobile apps and APIs, supporting the delivery of high-quality software releases. You’ll work closely with developers and stakeholders to create, execute and maintain automation tests, helping to maximise test coverage, reduce manual regression effort and support efficient, reliable deployments. What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting the development and maintenance of automation frameworks across web applications, mobile apps and APIs
- Collaborating with developers to ensure new features and fixes are thoroughly tested and quality assured
- Creating, executing and maintaining automated test scripts and test suites
- Supporting automated testing within deployment and CI/CD pipelines
- Identifying, logging, investigating and escalating defects using appropriate testing and tracking tools
- Reviewing functional requirements and documentation to ensure effective test coverage
- Producing reports and communicating testing progress, risks and issues to stakeholders
- Maintaining API automation tests and supporting test coverage for third-party integrations
- Supporting regression, functional, system and user acceptance testing activities
- Continuously improving automation processes, frameworks and ways of working to enhance efficiency and quality
- Working with multiple teams to ensure testing activities align with project and business priorities
- Contributing to a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement across the Technology function.
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in an Automation Testing or Quality Assurance role
- Excellent knowledge of web, mobile (iOS and Android) and cross-browser automation testing
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and experience testing API integrations
- Experience creating automated test scripts using Java, Selenium, Cucumber and TestNG
- Experience using Python and pytest for automation testing
- Knowledge of automation testing tools such as Sauce Labs
- Experience working within Agile environments and familiarity with Scrum, BDD, V-Model and Waterfall methodologies
- Experience of regression, functional, system and user acceptance testing
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes
- Experience using Jira and Confluence for test management and documentation
- Experience working with Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps
- Ability to prioritise workloads and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive, collaborative and solution-focused approach
Desirable:
- Experience with Golang
- Knowledge of Docker and containerisation technologies
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud environments
- Experience coaching or mentoring junior team members.
