Cityshapers Ltd is seeking an experienced, motivated, and safeguarding-focused Supported Accommodation Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our 16+ supported accommodation services. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred support for young people transitioning towards independence. The role requires strong leadership, operational oversight, safeguarding knowledge, and the ability to maintain compliance with Ofsted regulations, local authority requirements, and organisational policies.

The Supported Accommodation Manager will lead and support staff teams, oversee placement stability, promote positive outcomes for young people, and maintain effective multi-agency relationships. The role is operational and practice-focused and does not include responsibility for company finances, referral pricing, or bidding processes.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of the supported accommodation provisions, ensuring safe, effective, and high-quality service delivery.
  • Ensure all homes operate in line with Ofsted regulations, supported accommodation standards, safeguarding legislation, and local authority requirements.
  • Maintain oversight of staffing rotas, shift coverage, and on-call arrangements to ensure safe staffing levels.
  • Monitor the quality of support provided to young people and ensure consistency across all provisions.
  • Conduct regular audits of daily logs, incident reports, handovers, and electronic care records (e.g., LogMyCare).
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and safer working practices are implemented and adhered to by all staff.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safeguarding culture across all services.
  • Ensure safeguarding concerns, incidents, missing-from-home episodes, and behavioural incidents are appropriately managed, recorded, and escalated.
  • Oversee the completion and review of risk assessments, placement plans, and support plans.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance including fire safety, environmental checks, room inspections, and medication procedures where applicable.
  • Support staff in managing safeguarding concerns and maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Lead, supervise, and support staff teams to deliver high-quality, person-centred support.
  • Conduct regular supervisions, performance reviews, and staff welfare check-ins.
  • Support recruitment, induction, probation reviews, and ongoing staff development.
  • Ensure all staff maintain mandatory training compliance including safeguarding, first aid, PMVA, and health & safety training.
  • Promote positive teamwork, accountability, and professional practice within the service.
  • Ensure young people receive trauma-informed, outcome-focused support that promotes independence and wellbeing.
  • Oversee keywork sessions, welfare checks, support planning, and placement engagement.
  • Monitor placement stability and contribute to transition planning and positive move-on outcomes.
  • Ensure young people’s views, wishes, and feedback are listened to and acted upon.
  • Promote education, employment, training, and life-skills development for young people.
Multi-Agency Working
  • Maintain effective relationships with social workers, commissioners, local authorities, education providers, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
  • Attend and contribute to professional meetings, reviews, and safeguarding discussions.
  • Ensure reports, updates, and documentation are completed accurately and submitted within required timescales.
Experience
  • Experience in a management or senior leadership role within supported accommodation, residential childcare, semi-independent living, or social care services.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, Ofsted standards, and supported accommodation regulations.
  • Proven experience managing staff teams, rotas, and operational practice.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed and person-centred approaches.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and support compliance processes.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
  • Level 5 qualification in Health & Social Care, Leadership & Management, or equivalent preferable or willingness to complete.
  • Experience supporting Ofsted inspections or local authority audits.
  • Experience using electronic care management systems such as LogMyCare.
  • Experience working with children and young people aged 16+.
