About the company: Our client is an award winning remediation contractor who offers practical solutions for brownfield regeneration and contaminated land problems. By using their extensive in-house experience, they aim to provide an unrivalled service tailored to their client’s individual’s needs. To date, our client has successfully completed technical projects throughout the South of England for local authorities, residential and commercial developers, main contractors and consultants either in the role of principal contractor or subcontractor which range from small spills through to large multi-technology soil and groundwater remediation / development platform preparation on brownfield sites. Our client is in a steady growth period and are looking to expand outside of their current operations in the South East and South West, into the Midlands and North West of England. Current turnover stands at £15M, and this contractor is dedicated to measuring and reducing their carbon footprint, which includes selecting the most sustainable remediation options on projects as well as company -wide initiatives such a recycling. About the opportunity: As part of my client’s ongoing expansion and confirmed future workload, they have identified the need to recruit a permanent Remediation Engineer to assist with the technical delivery of remediation and enabling projects. The role will be split between the office in Essex and sites throughout the South East (although the majority of the time will be based on site). About the benefits and rewards: For this opportunity, my client is targeting professionals who are looking to earn anywhere between £30,000 – £35,000 per annum, however specific remuneration will depend on experience and suitability. Furthermore, a generous benefits package will be offered which includes an annual bonus scheme, 25 days annual leave per year (plus bank holidays), a 5% employer pension contribution, the option to enrol onto a healthcare benefits scheme, payment of professional membership fees will be covered and support will be provided towards achieving professional qualifications. About the requirements: As a Remediation Engineer, you will hold a minimum of 2 years post graduate experience in a related discipline such as site investigation, environmental monitoring, remediation or geotechnical engineering and ideally a significant portion of this time would have been spent on site, carrying out sampling etc. Knowledge of soil description, sampling, soil and groundwater remedial approaches, and earthworks practices is desirable, although full training will be provided. A valid driving license is essential as the role will involve a reasonable amount of travel and may require you to work away from home so you must be willing to do this as/when required (full subsistence will be covered).
