Progress to Head of Department and Director level. Take ownership of a growing design function, lead your own team, and play a key role in shaping the future of a business that is actively investing in its next generation of leaders. This isn't a role where you'll be another cog in the machine. You'll oversee a team of engineers, drive technical excellence across complex projects, and work directly with clients while having a genuine opportunity to progress into senior management and ultimately Director level.

Working on projects ranging from £500k to £30m, you'll be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, delivering bespoke electrical building services solutions across sectors including mission critical, healthcare, medical, industrial, and data centers.

The Role

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3–4 engineers and junior designers.
  • Take ownership of projects ranging from £500k–£30m in value.
  • Develop initial design concepts and oversee technical delivery across the wider team.
  • Deliver projects through RIBA Stages 1–6, from concept design through to completion.
  • Attend and lead client meetings, acting as the key technical point of contact.
  • Coordinate project resources, programs, and design deliverables.
  • Ensure designs meet technical, commercial, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to support the continued growth of the department.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong track record delivering electrical building services projects through RIBA Stages 1–3, with experience across Stages 4–6 highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop engineers or design teams.
  • Experience delivering projects within the mission critical, healthcare, medical, industrial or data centre sectors.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services design and UK regulations.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Commercially aware and capable of managing project deliverables and resources.
  • Ambitious individuals looking to progress into a senior leadership position.
  • Able to commute to the office on a regular basis.
