Are you an experienced Project Manager looking to move your career forward with a leading Build to Rent developer?
I'm working with a highly regarded client-side residential developer delivering Build to Rent apartment schemes across the South East.
Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of high-quality residential developments from construction through to completion.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who understands construction from both sides of the table, having gained experience with a main contractor before moving client-side.
The Role
Working within the Development team, you'll take ownership of projects throughout the construction phase, ensuring developments are delivered safely, compliantly, on programme and to the highest quality standards.
You'll act as the key link between contractors, consultants, local authorities and internal stakeholders, ensuring every aspect of delivery is effectively coordinated.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of Build to Rent residential apartment developments from construction through to handover.
- Oversee main contractors, consultants and specialist subcontractors.
- Monitor programme, quality, budgets and project risks.
- Lead project meetings and provide regular reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Manage Building Control approvals and statutory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with Building Safety legislation, CDM Regulations and all relevant industry standards.
- Coordinate utility providers, statutory undertakers and infrastructure connections.
- Drive Health & Safety performance across live developments.
- Manage defect resolution, snagging and project close-out.
- Build strong relationships with local authorities, warranty providers and external stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to exceptional quality standards.
About You
You'll be a confident, commercially aware Project Manager with experience delivering residential developments and a thorough understanding of construction delivery.
You'll ideally have
- Client-side Project Management experience within residential development or Build to Rent.
- Previous experience working for a main contractor.
- Experience delivering residential apartment developments.
- Strong knowledge of Building Control processes and regulatory compliance.
- Experience managing utilities, infrastructure and statutory approvals.
- Excellent understanding of Health & Safety legislation, CDM Regulations and Building Safety requirements.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple consultants and contractors simultaneously.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent organisational skills.
Desirable
- Degree qualified in Construction, Project Management or a related discipline.
- Professional membership such as RICS, CIOB, APM or working towards accreditation.
- Experience working on high-rise or multi-storey residential developments.
- Knowledge of JCT contracts and construction procurement.
