An established and growing construction business based in Wendover is looking to recruit an experienced Finance Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day financial operations of the company.
This is a key, office-based position suited to a Qualified Accountant with a strong construction background who is comfortable taking ownership of the finance function.
The successful candidate will have hands-on experience across management accounts, cash flow, CIS, VAT and financial reporting, alongside experience of raising investment.
As Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include
- Managing the day-to-day finance function across the business.
- Overseeing sales and purchase ledger activities.
- Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Processing and reconciling company bank accounts.
- Managing payroll liaison where required.
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts.
- Assisting with year-end accounts and submissions.
- Monitoring expenditure and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintaining accurate financial records in line with current legislation.
- Supporting the wider business with financial information and reporting.
- Assisting with the raising of investment and funding requirements.
Previous experience as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or Senior Finance professional.
- A recognised accountancy qualification – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
- Previous experience of raising investment/funding.
- Excellent working knowledge of Sage accounting software.
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
- A self-motivated approach with the ability to manage your own workload and take ownership of the finance function.
