Temporary Works Design Engineer/Manager – RC Frames & Groundworks
£80,000 - £110,000 + Benefits
Hertfordshire (near St Albans)
About the Employer:
This business is one of my top clients. Having worked with them for the past 15+ years, I have seen them develop in both size and capability. They currently turnover above £120 million per annum, building concrete frame and groundwork packages ranging in value up to £50 million each for a variety of residential and commercial main contractors and developers throughout London and the surrounding Home Counties. They have a very modern edge to the business while maintaining traditional roots.
On a personal note, I believe this company is one of the best not only because of their innovation or the projects they complete, but also because of the environment they create for their people. The directors are all superb, and there is a feeling of real unity throughout the whole business. They go that extra mile to not only retain their staff but to truly keep them happy. Small things have been added to the office, like a gym, a treatment room, and a rooftop BBQ area, all so the business can give back to its people. I’d want to work here myself if I had the relevant experience!
They really are a great company to work for to gain great project experience, to develop capability in modern construction techniques and to be part of the values they believe in.
About the Opportunity:
Due to ongoing company growth, my client is looking to expand their in-house temporary works design team and is therefore recruiting permanently for a Senior Design Engineer or Design Manager (depending on the amount of experience gained) to provide design engineering services within the Temporary Works team. Reporting directly to the Technical Director, you will be competent in the production of temporary works within the sectors mentioned above and will represent the company at meetings with clients, other professionals and suppliers.
About the Requirements:
To be considered for this opportunity, you should hold suitable engineering qualifications. Additionally, you will have vast working knowledge of the current ‘Euro’ code design standards, hold a minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience in the design of temporary works within the RC frame and groundwork sectors and have good knowledge of the use of AutoCAD / 3D Modelling.
About the Rewards:
For this permanent opportunity, my client is targeting professionals looking to earn anywhere from £80,000 to £110,000 per annum; however, there may be flexibility on this as the specific salary will depend on experience and suitability. Furthermore, there will be a generous package on offer in addition to the usual benefits associated with a large, successful company.
How to Apply:
I am more than happy to discuss this opportunity with people over the phone or face-to-face in a fully confidential manner. This is an incestuous sector and I fully understand the importance of keeping things discrete.
It would be ideal to see a copy of your CV to understand your previous experience and employment. In line with GDPR, nothing will be done with your CV/details until we have discussed the role in detail, but having gained an understanding of your formal past, this may help when we come to talk and discuss the option.

About Me, Your Consultant:
My name is Andrew Jackson, and I am one of the founding directors of Cityscape Recruitment Ltd. I have over 20 years of experience in recruitment, during which time, I have specialised in the niche sectors of concrete frames, groundworks, basement construction, and demolition.
