Our client is a well-established and growing construction and property services contractor delivering large-scale social housing refurbishment and maintenance projects across London and the South East. Due to continued growth and the award of a major long-term contract, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
This role will focus on a £15 million voids programme and offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial professional looking to take ownership of their own projects within a fast-paced and supportive environment.
The RoleThe successful candidate will be commercially responsible for managing a large-scale social housing voids contract, ensuring financial performance, cost control, and contractual compliance throughout the lifecycle of the programme. You will work closely with operational teams, subcontractors, and senior management while taking full ownership of commercial reporting and project profitability.
Key Responsibilities- Managing the commercial delivery of a £15 million voids contract
- Producing and managing CVRs accurately and efficiently
- Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and final accounts
- Reviewing and managing SOR-based works and valuations
- Preparing applications for payment and managing client accounts
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities across the contract
- Monitoring project costs, forecasts, and profitability
- Managing variations and contractual documentation
- Working closely with operational teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Running your own projects independently from a commercial perspective
- Proven experience within social housing and voids projects
- Previous experience operating as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor or property services environment
- Strong understanding of CVRs and commercial reporting
- Good working knowledge of SORs and schedule-of-rates contracts
- Experience managing your own projects independently
- Strong subcontractor management and negotiation skills
- Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Professional and proactive approach with strong communication skills
- Salary of £75,000
