Quantity Surveyor – Groundworks Chatham, Kent £50,000 – £70,000 + Car / Car Allowance + Benefits About the Company The company I am representing is a well-established groundwork contractor with a turnover of over £100m and a strong reputation in the industry. With 6–7 new projects due to start in the coming months and an already impressive pipeline of work, they are looking to expand their commercial team further. Specialising in delivering groundwork and civil engineering packages for many of the UK’s leading housebuilders, the company has grown steadily year-on-year. With a team of 10 experienced Quantity Surveyors already in place, they provide an environment that combines stability, collaboration, and opportunities for progression. About the Role The successful Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of groundwork projects across Chatham and Kent. Key responsibilities include: * Managing valuations, variations, cost control, and payments. * Working closely with project teams and clients to ensure profitability. * Maintaining and developing strong relationships with bulk house builders. * Producing accurate financial reporting to support senior management. * Playing a key role in the delivery of multiple new projects starting shortly. Requirements * Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor. * Experience working with Civil Engineering, Groundworks, or Infrastructure. * Strong commercial and NEC / JCT contractual knowledge. * Excellent communication and negotiation skills. * Ability to work in a fast-paced, growing environment. * Degree in Quantity Surveying.
