The company that I’m recruiting for is a leading name within the highways, utilities, bridges, and civil engineering infrastructure sectors within England. The firm specialises in S278 and S38 works, as well as construction and maintenance work for all types of highway, from minor roads to motorways and major route construction. They also specialise in bridge infrastructure, utilities, and rail. The projects that they get involved in range up to the value of £20M. My client is currently turning over £100M and they expect this to continue to grow with the Managing Directors' exciting goals and expectations.

About the opportunity

  • Are you experienced in highways works and looking for an opportunity to join a successful team on long term frameworks? Maybe you need a change of scene and want to challenge yourself and grow with a new company. This is a brilliant opportunity for somebody who is looking for long-term stability, hands-on development, continued progression, and a great working environment. Due to a large increase in work my client is now looking to strengthen their Operational team for many highways infrastructure projects. You will be working on the safety barrier and fencing schemes across Yorkshire and the North West regions. Provide strategic leadership for AGC, ensuring projects align with business objectives and client expectations.
  • Oversee the delivery of contracts, ensuring compliance with SHEQ standards, health and safety regulations, and quality requirements.
  • Manage client relationships, fostering long-term partnerships and identifying opportunities beyond National Highways.
  • Plan and coordinate site works, ensuring efficient scheduling, resource allocation, and effective utilisation of plant and labour.
  • Mentor and develop Contract Managers, Barrier Managers, Supervisors, and Foremen, promoting a culture of high performance and professional growth.
  • Monitor contracts, budgets, and working hours, ensuring cost-effectiveness and workforce well-being.
  • Ensure all work meets ISO9001 documentation requirements and industry best practices.
  • Attend and contribute to client engagement and community meetings, supporting work allocation and relationship-building efforts.

  • Strong technical knowledge of highways vehicle restraints, including CD377, CS46, CG300, MCHW, DMRB.
  • A degree or equivalent (HND/HNC) in construction management or project management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of health & safety legislation and risk management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Project, and Word, with strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and team development capabilities.
  • UK driving license required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
