Our client is a long-established civil engineering contractor delivering groundworks, drainage and reinforced concrete packages across the Midlands and South East. Working with repeat clients across the commercial, education and infrastructure sectors, they have built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects safely and on programme. Typical project values range from £1m to £5m.

About the Opportunity

Due to a growing workload and a strong pipeline of secured projects, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to take full responsibility for the successful delivery of a commercial and education project based in Solihull. This role would suit someone with a strong background in groundworks and civil engineering who enjoys leading teams, managing programmes and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Managing the day-to-day delivery of groundworks and civil engineering projects
  • Leading Site Managers, Engineers, Foremen and subcontractors
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget
  • Monitoring project progress and reporting to senior management
  • Managing client, consultant and stakeholder relationships
  • Coordinating labour, plant, materials and subcontractors
  • Driving quality standards across all site activities
  • Identifying project risks and implementing practical solutions
  • Working closely with the commercial team to achieve project objectives

About the Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Project Manager within the UK groundworks and civil engineering sector
  • Experience delivering commercial, education or public sector projects
  • Strong technical understanding of groundworks, drainage and reinforced concrete works
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and site teams
  • SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid (preferred)
