About the Company

Our client is an established civil engineering, groundworks and reinforced concrete frame contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering complex infrastructure and commercial projects across the UK. Their portfolio includes major data centres, industrial developments and large-scale commercial schemes, with project values typically ranging from £5m to £30m.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join their team on a major data centre project in Newcastle.

About the Opportunity

This opportunity would suit an experienced Health and Safety Advisor with a strong background in civil engineering, groundworks or reinforced concrete frame construction.

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of the company's health and safety procedures
  • Supporting the preparation and review of risk assessments, method statements and construction phase plans
  • Carrying out regular site inspections, audits and compliance checks
  • Providing health and safety advice and support to site management and subcontractors
  • Monitoring site activities to ensure compliance with company procedures and current legislation
  • Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented
  • Promoting a positive health and safety culture across the project

About the Requirements

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent) is essential
  • Previous experience as a Health and Safety Advisor within civil engineering, groundworks or RC Frame construction
  • Experience working on large commercial, industrial, infrastructure or data centre projects would be advantageous
  • Strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation and construction site operations
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships across site teams
