M&E Design Engineer needed in Essex, London close to East London, Dagenham, Dartford, Brentford and Chelmsford. We’re working with a leading M&E contractor seeking a capable and driven M&E Design Engineer to join their growing in-house design team. This is a key supporting role, working directly alongside the Design Manager to deliver mechanical and electrical design solutions across a variety of live projects.
The Role: As M&E Design Engineer, you’ll be instrumental in assisting with design coordination, technical reviews, drawing production, and interfacing with project and delivery teams. You’ll help ensure smooth design workflows from pre-construction through to install, while maintaining compliance with industry standards and client expectations. This is an ideal role for an engineer looking to step up in responsibility and gain direct mentorship from a seasoned Design Manager on major building services projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the Design Manager with day-to-day design tasks across M&E disciplines
- Produce, review, and amend mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications
- Assist with design calculations, compliance checks, and technical submissions
- Work collaboratively with BIM/CAD teams, consultants, and internal delivery teams
