As a Materials Buyer, you will be working across multiple projects for clients and contractors across the construction, utilities and infrastructure sectors. These will be London based utilities projects up to £30M. This role will be reporting into the procurement manager and will be working closely with the supply chain manager. This role will involve working on the entire process supporting the team with pricing as part of the pre-con process. Then once a tender has been awarded you will be placing orders with suppliers. You will need to be able to negotiate with suppliers and work closely with sub-contractors to build good relationships. This role will ideally be based out of the head office in Kent but can also be based from central London.
REQUIREMENTS
- The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience in a buying role and will have established relationships within the construction industry.
- Civil engineering experience is a must have and if you have experience with data centre projects that would be even better.
- You will have excellent IT skills and be a very organised individual.
