About the Opportunity:

I am looking for an experienced groundwork Managing Quantity Surveyor that is interested in joining a well-established and leading groundwork contractor who are based in Kent. Your position in the business will report directly to the commercial director, and you will be responsible for overseeing a team of surveyors based on a variety of groundwork packages. You can be confident in your employer as they have been trading for over 40 years, currently turnover above £100m per annum and are widely recognised as one of the most successful groundwork contractors in the UK. We are looking for career-focused individuals who want the opportunity to be part of a close-knit team that is working on excellent projects around the South East.

So, if you are an experienced groundwork managing quantity surveyor and you want to join a market-leading business, this could be the perfect option.

About the Company:

Based in Kent our client currently operates all over the South East, taking on a variety of residential, commercial, educational, data centre, healthcare and leisure groundwork packages. They cover everything from civil related roadworks through to foundations and drainage, and with long-term relationships with a lot of the best main contractors and developers in the UK, they always have a steady amount of work coming through.

I have personally known the commercial director of this business for over 10+ years, and not only do the people who work for him speak highly of him, but those who worked with him previously at his last business do too. He encourages his team to develop, helps guide people towards the next step and works with his team to get the best results. It therefore stands as a reflection that by no surprise, the staff retention at this business is very good. People join on the rare occasions that they are recruiting (usually due to growth), and then they stay because they enjoy working there.

About the Requirements:

To be successful, individuals need to have worked for rival groundwork subcontractors in the UK as a Managing QS or Commercial Manager. Your hard work will be rewarded, and opportunity will be there, but this previous experience in this sector is a must. Due to the technical nature of the position, it is also crucial that all applicants are degree-qualified in quantity surveying or commercial management. And due to the location of our client’s office, it is also advisable that applicants are based in or around Kent, Essex or London. You will not be expected to attend the office every day, but this position will be primarily based there. Travel in and around town will be expected for site visits, and flexibility will be there to work remotely as well.

About the Benefits:

For this opportunity, I am targeting anyone looking to earn between £90,000 to £120,000 per annum. This bracket is flexible, and starting figures will be based on experience and previous history, but in addition to this, our client is offering a comprehensive package including the usual’s such as pension but also a structured bonus scheme. But aside from the earning potential, this opportunity really does offer the right person an exciting career option with the view to joining a great team and working with them towards the future.

How to Apply:

I am more than happy to discuss this opportunity with people over the phone or face to face in a fully confidential manner. Alternatively, it would be ideal to see a copy of your CV to understand your previous experience and employment. In line with GDPR, nothing will be done with your CV / details until we have discussed the role in detail anyway, but having gained an understanding of your formal past, this may help when we come to talk and discuss the option.
