I’m currently working with a London-based, design and build construction and property business that specialises in delivering sustainable, low-waste commercial environments. Operating as a true design-and-build studio, the company provides a full turnkey service from concept through construction and fit-out, working with a broad client base across London and the UK. Due to a strong pipeline of upcoming projects, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Preconstruction Manager to join the business and play a key role in securing and shaping future work.
The Role
This is a senior, hands-on position leading the preconstruction process across multiple commercial projects. You will work closely with design, commercial, and delivery teams to ensure projects are commercially sound, technically deliverable, and aligned with the business’s sustainability-driven approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead preconstruction activities from early feasibility through to contract award
- Manage cost planning, budgeting, value engineering, and risk management
- Coordinate input from design, estimating, commercial, and construction teams
- Prepare and present tenders, programmes, and proposals to clients
- Engage with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners throughout the bid process
- Support a smooth handover from preconstruction into live delivery
- Champion sustainability, low-waste construction, and carbon reduction where possible
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in a senior preconstruction, estimating, or commercial role within a design-and-build environment
- Strong background in commercial fit-out and/or mixed-use projects
- Excellent commercial awareness with strong negotiation and presentation skills
- Confident client-facing professional able to influence at senior level
- Organised, detail-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
