Role Overview
We are seeking a Contracts Manager to oversee and manage multiple building and refurbishment projects, ensuring commercial and operational success from start to finish. This role requires a highly organised and commercially-minded individual capable of managing project budgets, procurement, contracts, and site teams while maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple projects across commercial, residential, NHS, education, and luxury sectors.
- Monitor project budgets, valuations, variations, and final accounts to ensure profitability.
- Liaise with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient delivery.
- Oversee procurement, placing orders with suppliers and subcontractors to meet programme requirements.
- Ensure all projects comply with contracts, company procedures, and health & safety regulations.
- Attend client meetings, provide commercial updates, and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Drive continuous improvement and best practices across projects and teams.
- Support and mentor junior staff, including quantity surveyors and project managers.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager in building or refurbishment projects.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience managing budgets up to multi-million-pound projects.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and cost control processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clients, site teams, and subcontractors.
- Relevant construction qualification (Degree/HND in Construction Management or equivalent preferred).
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: Up to £85,000 per annum, dependent on experience
- Annual Leave: 24 days + 1 company day + statutory bank holidays
