Assistant Quantity Surveyor in London, Westminster

About the Role An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established construction contractor working across a variety of refurbishment and extension projects ranging from £100k to £4m in value. You’ll be involved in projects across offices, retail, and high-spec residential sectors, supporting the commercial management of several exciting developments — including work with prestigious estate and property clients. The Opportunity This role is ideal for someone with a passion for commercial management who wants to learn directly from an experienced Quantity Surveyor and develop their skills in a supportive, hands-on environment. You’ll gain exposure to all stages of the project lifecycle — from tendering through to final account — and work closely with project managers, site teams, and clients. Responsibilities * Assisting with cost estimation, budgeting, and tendering processes * Preparing and reviewing subcontractor packages and variations * Supporting with valuations, measurements, and final accounts * Maintaining accurate cost reporting and documentation * Liaising with site teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure commercial efficiency Requirements * Previous experience or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying (degree or HNC/HND preferred) * Strong numerical and analytical skills * Excellent attention to detail and communication skills * Ability to work as part of a team and show initiative * Keen to learn and develop within the construction sector What’s on Offer * Competitive salary (PAYE or Freelance options) * Immediate start available * Mentorship from an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor * Opportunity to progress within a growing contractor working on high-quality London projects
