Our client is a well-established specialist contractor operating within the RC frame and groundworks sector. They deliver reinforced concrete structures and groundwork packages across London and the surrounding counties, with individual package values of up to £5 million. Following continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in North Hertfordshire.

The successful candidate will take commercial responsibility for RC frame and groundworks packages, supporting projects from pre-construction through to completion and final account. You will work closely with the operational and commercial teams to monitor project performance, manage contractual matters and ensure each project achieves its commercial targets.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and submitting valuations
  • Managing variations and contractual changes
  • Producing cost reports and project forecasts
  • Procuring and managing subcontractor accounts
  • Monitoring cash flow and project profitability
  • Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
  • Supporting the commercial team across multiple projects

The opportunity can accommodate Quantity Surveyors at different stages of their careers, depending on previous experience and capability.

About the Requirements:

  • Experience working for an RC frame, groundworks or civil engineering contractor
  • Strong knowledge of valuations, variations and cost reporting
  • Experience managing subcontractor accounts and final accounts
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related subject
  • Good contractual and commercial understanding
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

About the Benefits and Rewards:

Salary: £70,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience. PAYE and LTD arrangements can be considered. The overall package includes can be discussed at interview stage.
