Our client is a well-established and growing construction subcontractor delivering specialist packages across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments throughout London and the South East. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Epping. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career within a fast-paced subcontracting environment, gaining exposure to multiple live projects and working closely with experienced commercial professionals.
The Role
- Working alongside the Commercial Manager and Senior Quantity Surveyors, you will assist with the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account.
- Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation of valuations and applications for payment
- Supporting subcontract procurement and package management
- Assisting with variations, change management, and final accounts
- Producing cost reports and supporting CVR processes
- Liaising with main contractors, suppliers, and site teams
- Reviewing subcontractor accounts and payment applications
- Supporting the commercial delivery of multiple live projects
Requirements
- Previous experience within a Quantity Surveying role in the construction industry
- Experience working for a subcontractor or main contractor considered
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
- Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Motivated to progress within a growing business
- Full UK driving licence preferred
