Job Description
We are looking for a talented, ambitious graduate photographer who is passionate about architecture, creative and highly technical. You will work alongside our existing photographic team, shooting verified photography for planning applications, background images for marketing CGIs and visual material for retouchers to use. We are looking for a self-motivated and adaptable candidate with a keen eye for detail who is organised and reliable. You will be working independently on project shoots in London and elsewhere in the UK. Flexible working hours will be required at times to facilitate evening/dusk shoots.
Roles and Responsibilities
Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Follow Cityscape Digital's established methodology for verified planning photography, including marking for survey. Our verified images are a crucial part of our professional standards, so accuracy and interest in the technical aspects of the role are fundamental.
- You will work with our photography coordinator to receive briefs, coordinate and report back progress on shoots.
- Occasionally using SunCalc to predict lighting changes throughout the day to plan your approach to the shoot.
- Prep and maintain all equipment required for shoots.
- Travel to various UK shoot locations following a brief and make your own plan on how to complete it and on the ground.
- Shoot architectural projects to a consistently high standard with sharp attention to detail.
- Independently liaise with Project Managers and Visual Artists on individual briefs to make sure the results meet requirements.
- At times meet up with and work alongside survey teams on site.
- Processing of all imagery taken either in our studio or on location straight after the shoot.
Skills & Experience
Proficient in composition and working with natural light with modern Canon photographic equipment, you will be using shift lenses, tripods and a selection of other lenses.
Architectural photography experience is desirable, and an interest in architecture and the built environment is essential.
Shooting panoramic images using a panoramic head for accurate stitching is desirable, as is knowledge of panoramic stitching.
Digital raw image processing using Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom/Bridge is essential.
Good knowledge and use of Google apps and digital systems; Google Docs/Spreadsheets/Mymaps
Must hold a valid, clean UK driving licence.
Training Provided
If you have no experience in verified planning photography, training will be provided by our experienced in-house senior photographer.
Structure, workflow and training in processing all photographic imagery will also be provided using Cityscape Digital's methodology.
